Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. The group will then depart for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area (30km) to visit:

  • Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is located north of Lijiang Old Town. It’s covered in white snow year-round, blanketing a vast area that resembles a giant dragon, hence its name “Jade Dragon.” This place is often compared to the “Asian Switzerland,” much like the Pyrenees mountain range (a famous mountain range on the border of France and Switzerland). The group will take a large cable car up the mountain to an altitude of 4600m for souvenir photos.

The group will then watch the Impression Lijiang show.

Afterward, the group will continue to visit Ganhai Meadows (Cam Hai Tu), Blue Moon Valley  (Bach Thuy Ha), Lam Viet Coc, and Yushui Village (Ngoc Thuy Trai) within the scenic area by electric shuttle (electric shuttle fee not included).

You will visit the Yak Museum.

Evening: The group will have dinner, then you’ll have free time to explore Shangri-La by night.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, the group will check out and proceed to visit:

  • Songzanlin Monastery: A miniature representation of Tibet’s Potala Palace, situated at an altitude of 3200m. Prominently featuring brilliant golden pointed roofs, it’s the largest monastery in Yunnan. It embodies the quintessential cultural characteristics of the Tibetan people and was built in 1679 by the 5th Dalai Lama, remaining perfectly preserved to this day.

Afternoon: After lunch, the group will travel to Dali (182km). Along the way, the group will visit:

  • Tiger Leaping Gorge: This incredible natural wonder is one of the deepest, longest, and narrowest gorges in the world. Here, the Yangtze River is constrained by two towering mountain ranges, Jade Dragon (5600m) and Haba (5396m), suddenly narrowing for a 16km stretch. The gorge plunges nearly 3900m from the mountain peaks to its base. At its narrowest point, a large boulder obstructs the path, causing the swift currents to crash against it, creating echoing sounds throughout the gorge.

Evening: You’ll have dinner, then free time to explore Dali by night.

Overnight in Dali.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll check out. The group will then visit:

  • Dali Ancient City: The once-glorious capital of the Dali Kingdom, boasting a prime location with the Cangshan Mountains at its back and facing Erhai Lake. Nearby stands the Three Pagodas of Dali – a distinctive Buddhist architectural complex.

  • Today, this area still preserves numerous ancient buildings, temples, and shrines, along with valuable historical architecture. It offers many attractive local products and boasts a romantic landscape embodying “wind, flowers, snow, and moon.” It’s also renowned as the homeland of Prince Duan Yu, the elegant, loyal, and deeply infatuated character from Jin Yong’s famous wuxia novel, “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils” (Thien long bat bo).

  • Visit the Three Pagodas of Dali (exterior view) – With a height of approximately 69 meters and 16 stories, the main pagoda, Qianxun Pagoda, is one of the tallest sacred sites and a testament to the flourishing development of Buddhism during the Tang Dynasty.

Afternoon: After lunch, the group will visit:

  • The Golden Temple: This scenic area’s Golden Temple in Kunming is made of brass. Under the sunlight, it reflects the golden glow of the green valley and surrounding forests, earning it the name Golden Temple. Built during the Ming Dynasty (1602), it is one of the four largest bronze palaces in China and is the best preserved. In the tenth year of the Kangxi reign (1671 AD), Prince Pingxi – Wu Sangui – rebuilt it, giving it a long and rich history.

Afterward, the group will depart for Kunming (319km).

Evening: You’ll have dinner, then free time to explore Kunming by night – a modern, developed city in China.

Overnight in Kunming.

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and complete check-out procedures. The group will then depart to visit:

  • Kunming Waterfall Park – Witnessing waterfalls is always one of the most spectacular and beloved experiences. Among them is the largest artificial waterfall, “Niulanjiang Waterfall,” located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. This site is currently recognized as the largest artificial waterfall in Asia.

Afternoon: After lunch, the group will continue to visit:

  • Dounan Flower Market – Currently the largest flower trading hub in Kunming. Each day, over 10,000 people visit, and more than 280 tons of fresh flowers are transported to other cities.
